Guru Shishya Relationship

“Yog” today known as the widely used modern term Yoga is an ancient term been coined by the Rishis.Yog in simple terms means to “intersect” or “to unite”.This is what exactly a Shishya’s relationship with his Guru is all about, i.e. “to be one”. This unity will come only when you surrender at Guru’s Charan i.e. feet. In today’s life we are all focused about our outer self, our outer appearance and we often forget about  our  inner self. This inner self helps us not only to rise above the worldly affairs but also starts bringing peace to ourselves.

This can only happen when we are aware of our inner consciousness which can be achieved through path led by ‘Guru. In a true sense it soaks the negativity and transfers positive energy thereby cleansing our inner self.

The elevation of the inner self is only possible when one truly accepts Guru. The true acceptance only comes when we surrender to his vision and his path. We are too used to living a patterned lifestyle and undergoing changes is not readily acceptable to the mind. However once you start accepting it, gradually the minds starts soaking it and thus the path or the ‘margadarshan’ becomes your way forward to the elevation.

Guru has been conferred the highest place in the shastras. It is correctly said you do not find ‘Guru’ but ‘Guru’ finds you. ‘Guru’ and ‘Shishya’s relationship has to be very closely knit. Anything and everything associated with Guru has to be treated as ‘Shreshta’ i.e. of utmost important. ‘Guru’ will never claim to eliminate all your problems. But ‘Guru’ will definitely help you deal with adverse situations with a different perspective. The Dhyan or ‘Mantra Japs’ will help you look at life with positivity slowly leading to a condition of being attached and detached at the same time. This will not only help elevate your inner self at a spiritual level but also get you closer to the Almighty.

Dhyan will help you rise above your peers mentally thereby inculcating positive energy strides around you. Only with the help of Dhyan you can understand the energies that form a part of the body and help you develop a stronger bond with your Guru. Guru Shishya relationship is purely dependent on the faith that a Shishya places on his Guru. Even the smallest doubt can hamper the relationship and eventually the path led by the Guru.

The true bond of a Guru – Shishya relationship strengthens over a period of time. Each day is a new learning a new beginning. Every element, every teaching of Guru needs to be encompassed within us. Once you’ve decided to lead the path shown by the Guru there’s no looking back. No path is easy. Each path walked on gives us a new learning, a lesson to be incorporated by us for a lifetime.

For a Shishya there exists nothing but the faith. The faith of the Shishya has to without a doubt as; a single doubt is enough to keep one off the path. A Shishya never hides things from Guru and hence the relationship between a Shishya and his Guru is pure. A Shishya is a reflection of his Guru, he/she displays the vivacity of the Guru and his teachings. A Shishya needs to be the ‘Name Card’ of his Guru.

Once a ‘Guru’ chooses his Shishya, he/she becomes the ‘Guru’s responsibility. This literally means that ‘Guru’ is there with him every second. The quintessential of ‘Guru’ is the Gyan i.e. the knowledge he imparts to his Shishya and for the Shishya it is unmatched Seva.

At Himgiri we believe in

“DhyanmoolamGuruMurti,

Pooja moolam  GuruPadam,

Moksha moolam  GuruKripa”

This in its truest form is the essence of a Shishya’s life. That, Dhyan is the form of his Guru; All pilgrimages are at the feet of the Guru ; Every word of the Guru is magical, it is a mantra which possesses a divine energy and ; Mokhsa can be attained only by the blessings of the Guru.

There is no relationship as pure and as soothing as that of a Shishya and his Guru

There is a golden saying:

If one achieves the world and does not have the hand of the Guru, What has he actually achieved?

Whereas if one has achieve the relationship with Guru, what has he actually lost?
